The Power of the Ten-minute Play (Workshop) Sat. June 16; 2 - 4 pm (Alumnae Mainstage)
In this workshop, Dominik outlines his process for writing a ten-minute play, drawing on experiences and examples from plays in the greyShow (June 14 and 15 – see show listing for details). This year’s festival presents, for the first time, the greyShow: six plays written by Artistic Director, Dominik Loncar, and previously produced at the festival. This is a unique opportunity, during the festival, to see plays on stage and gaining insight to help you as a playwright. You will also get specific hands-on techniques to use, as well as, effective approaches in guiding your writing (bring a notebook and pen). This is a wonderful primer to help aspiring playwrights submit a play for next season's contest.
Please note: The focus of the workshop is to help you write a ten-minute play with references from the greyShow (so make sure to attend one of the two greyShow performances). Dominik will also touch upon other plays in the festival and what to keep in mind when writing different styles of drama. This is for anyone, whether a novice or seasoned writer, who wants to better their skills in writing a ten-minute play.
