The Art and Craft of the Ten-minute Play
Workshop: The Art and Craft of the Ten-minute Play
September 14, 2017; 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Alumnae Theater Mainstage, Toronto
A lot can happen in 10 minutes.
Join Dominik Loncar, Artistic Director of the InspiraTO Festival, Canada’s largest ten-minute play festival, as he shows you how to craft and write an engaging ten-minute play. Like full-length plays, the ten-minute form employs conflict, distinctive characters and high stakes. Above all, every line of dialogue is crucial.
You’ll review a 10-minute play and learn how to address the challenges and solutions unique to the genre.
This event is free for Alumnae members (there is a $10 material fee for handouts payable, cash only, at the door). $30 for non-members (includes handouts).
You’ll learn the:
· Common pitfalls
. How to shape your play
· Specific techniques to use
· Hands on exercises
· Q & A
